Liliane Tomasko

Liliane Tomasko (b. 1967, Zurich, Switzerland) is an abstract painter whose work explores memory, dreams, perception, and the subconscious. Often beginning with observations of intimate and domestic subjects, including beds, fabrics, and interior spaces, Tomasko transforms recognizable forms through layers of color, sweeping gestures, and intertwined shapes. Her paintings move between representation and abstraction, examining the elusive space between waking consciousness and the dream state. Tomasko studied at Camberwell College of Arts and Chelsea College of Art and Design before receiving her MA from the Royal Academy of Arts in London in 1998. Her work has been presented internationally in solo and group exhibitions across the United States, Europe, and Asia.
